The naturally produced wax by honeybees of the genus Apis is known as beeswax. Beeswax is the most ancient wax and in the early days was used as the first plastic. Pure beeswax is edible and is approved in many countries as in food products. Natural beeswax is found to be non-toxic. A reusable paper wrap made with organic beeswax is far better than regular wax-coated paper wraps and silver foils. Beeswax is produced by worker bees. On the inner side of their sternites, they have eight wax-producing glands which they secrete while building their comb. The color and opacity of beeswax depend upon what kind of nectar and pollen bees brings to their hive. Let’s have a quick look at how Indigenous Beeswax is processed. As Indigenous Honey is organic honey, the hives are kept in 100% chemical-free farms and fields. So, beeswax produced by these bees is also 100% organic beeswax. After filling the honey in the hexagonal-shaped cells of their comb, honeybees are used to apply a seal of wax. Here the amazing fact to know is that bees require 8 kg of honey to make 1 kg of natural beeswax. Before harvesting the honey, we used to remove that seal with a hive tool and like this, we collect wax. After harvesting the wax, we used to heat it. After the process of heating, we filter it through the net in cold water. With this, the wax settles down and the waste is filtered out. By repeating this process 2-3 times we get the purest form of beeswax at last. Indigenous works with the principle of non-violence and the aim of serving you with the best quality products without any adulteration. Indigenous beeswax is pure and unadulterated wax and while harvesting we make sure that no bee is getting harmed during this process. Looking over the various properties and uses of beeswax, it is widely used in different sectors for various purposes, from lip balm and cosmetics to plastic-free food storage material. Beeswax is environment friendly and non-toxic which should be highly promoted.
